What You Will Do
NEN-6isseekingaProfessionalStaffAssistantasateammemberwhoreportstotheNEN-6GroupLeader,supportinghighhazardandhighsecurityworkactivitiesassociatedwiththeThreatReductionmissionatNNSS.TheNEN-6teamlocatedatNNSSworksunderconstantlychangingpriorities,quickturn-aroundanddeadlinesandmakesdecisionsthathaveahighimpactontheperformanceand perception of theLaboratory.
Specific duties of the position include but are not limited to:
Beinganeffective,supportive,trustworthy,andcustomer-focusedmemberoftheteamrequiresclosecooperationandcommunication,adaptability,takinginitiativeincompletingtasks, and willingness toprovide support wherever needed.
FrequentinteractionswithotherLabs,theNevadaFieldOffice,andtheNNSSM&O;contractor tocoordinateand plan operations.
Activeparticipationinfrequentteleconferencecallswithstaffatthe home LaboratoryandNNSA.
ResponsiblefordesigningandimplementingadministrativepoliciesandproceduresasNEN-6 operations at NNSS expand.
Act as a resource regarding LANL,LLNL,and NNSS policies and procedures.
Performclassicadministrativeduties(e.g.purchaserequests,TimeandLabor,domestictravel,calendarmanagement,recordsmanagement,vehiclemaintenancerecords,facilityservice requests, visitor processing, etc.)
What You Need
Minimum Job Requirements:
Proven competence in providing high-level administrative support in a busy office environment, including interfacing with all levels of personnel.
Knowledge and experience in project management.
Experience working effectively with program and technical staff in defining and accomplishing program milestones (scope, schedule, cost, and budget).
Knowledge and experience monitoring status of project costs, budgets and schedules.
Demonstrated excellent communication skills (interpersonal, verbal, and written) while interacting effectively with all levels of employees and managers.
Demonstrated experience with solving problems, developing solutions, and innovating business practices to ensure customer and sponsor satisfaction.
Demonstrated ability to work independently while maintaining excellent quality in daily operational work, as well as the fine-tuned skills of organizing, prioritizing, and following through to completion multiple projects with frequent interruptions under strict deadlines and changing priorities.
Demonstrated experience working constructively and effectively in a multi-disciplinary group environment.
Experience building trust, gaining consensus, and resolving conflicts.
Demonstrate initiative, versatility, and accuracy in the performance of their work product.
Demonstrated commitment to quality and excellence as evidenced by exemplary work products.
Ability to obtain a DOE Q clearance, which normally requires US citizenship. (Selected candidate will be subject to a Federal background investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified matter.)
Designated Procurement Representative (DPR) experience.
Knowledge of LANL-specific business systems, including Oracle, UTrain, Sunflower, iProcurement; knowledge of LANL records management processes.
An active Q clearance.
An active HRP Certification.
Education:Position typicallyrequires 2 or moreyears of relevant experience.
Clearance: Q (Position will be cleared to this level). Applicants selected will be subject to a Federal background investigation and must meet eligibility requirements* for access to classified matter.
*Eligibility requirements: To obtain a clearance, an individual must be at least 18 years of age; U.S. citizenship is required except in very limited circumstances. See DOE Order 472.2 for additional information.
HRP: This position is subject to the requirements of the DOE Human Reliability Program as specified in 10 Code of Federal Regulation, Part 712, §712.11. These requirements include on going drug and alcohol testing, as well as periodic medical and psychological evaluations.
New-Employment Drug Test: The Laboratory requires successful applicants to complete a new-employment drug test and maintains a substance abuse policy that includes random drug testing
