Los Alamos National Laboratory Work Execution Manager (Maintenance Manager 2) in Los Alamos, New Mexico

What You Will Do

Responsible to the deployed MSS Work Execution Manager for driving the long-range strategic planning process for maintenance by overseeing and managing the design, planning, construction, and maintenance of equipment, machinery, buildings, and/or other facilities. Plans, budgets, and schedules facility modifications including estimates on equipment, labor, materials and other related costs. Designs and develops organizational policies relevant to facility maintenance activities. Ensures common processes and procedures are utilized by deployed groups. Monitors and contributes to managements of institutional maintenance issues and oversees subcontracted and/or in-house facility maintenance services.

What You Need

Minimum Job Requirements:

Facility Management:

Full knowledge of and experience with facility management including systems engineering design and maintenance, safety/authorization basis, configuration management programs, work control, facility control systems, major construction projects, and upgrades and renovations. Full understanding of work hazards, safety practices, operating configuration, and lock-out/tag-out policies and procedures.

Problem Solving:

Demonstrated experience and skill in identifying problem areas, investigating alternative solutions, and determining action to be performed on problems affecting the maintenance program. Demonstrated ability to understand and interpret various physical, mechanical, and electrical documents, blueprints, drawings, and schematics.

Organization and Communication:

Demonstrated ability to utilize and manipulate a computerized work management system in maintaining and tracking project activities. Full knowledge of facility policies and procedures. Full knowledge of government regulations affecting maintenance and site services. Demonstrated experience in the preparation and presentation of oral and written reports.

Education/Experience: Position requires a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution and 3 years related experience; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience directly related to occupation.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of the Laboratory's organizational structure.

  • Full understanding of the Laboratory's maintenance and facility policies, practices, and procedures.

  • Experience in Facility Operations, Engineering and/or Maintenance.

Position commitment: Regular appointment employees are required to serve a period of continuous service in their current position in order to be eligible to apply for posted jobs throughout the Laboratory. Additional Details

Directive 206.2 - Employment with Triad requires a favorable decision by NNSA indicating employee is suitable under NNSA Supplemental Directive 206.2 . Regular position: Term status Laboratory employees applying for regular-status positions are converted to regular status.
