What You Will Do

The International Threat Reduction Group (NEN‐3) of the Nuclear Engineering and Nonproliferation (NEN) Division is seeking qualified applicants for the position of a Technical Project Manager 2 to serve as the Type B Container Operations Lead. In addition to the support of Type B operations within the Off-site Source Recovery Program (OSRP), the selected candidate will be expected to support subcontracting, other OSRP-related activities, and develop other opportunities beyond OSRP for the use of the Type B container. OSRP is a U.S. Government activity sponsored by the National Nuclear Security Administration's (NNSA) Office of Global Material with the mission to remove excess or unwanted radioactive sealed sources that pose a potential risk to national security, and public health and safety.

In this position you will be coordinating high-activity beta gamma removals that use Type B containers, including interaction with OSRP program management, the Mobile Loading Source Recovery Team (MLSRT) based in Carlsbad, and the site from which the device is being recovered. You will collaborate closely with the Program Manager and line management, serving as the team’s point of contact for program development, enhancement, execution, funding, and promotion of the team’s Type B container operation capabilities. In this position, you will interface with the LANL Readiness, Packaging, and Transportation-Packaging and Transportation (RPT-PT) Office to maintain Type B quality assurance and Class 7 shipping compliance.
