What You Will Do
The Sensitive and Special Operations Division is seeking a highly accomplished and motivated Solutions Architect 4 (SA-4) to work as a member of the LANL Field Intelligence Element Enterprise Services Team to research, design, install, manage, and troubleshoot various networks, operating systems, applications, and other core services on multiple TS/SCI computer networks and stand-alone systems. The SA-4 will be required to work independently and with other team members on several diverse and complex IT related projects, and will be expected to evaluate, design, implement, and manage appropriate hardware and software solutions supporting members of the LANL Field Intelligence Element.
Additionally, the individual selected for this position will be required to work closely with technical and administrative cyber-security staff to help ensure networks and systems are compliant and secure.
What You Need
Minimum Job Requirements:
Advanced knowledge and progressive experience architecting complex IT solutions across multiple IT focus areas and technologies
Experience building, configuring, and managing enterprise level network switches/ routers for both the campus and WAN
Expert level systems administration across multiple enterprise level server platforms and services (e.g. Server 2k12- Server 2016, Debian and Redhat based Linux, Exchange, Active Directory, Samba, DFS, DNS)
Demonstrated authorship of technical documentation for the design and deployment of Information Technology systems at scale
Ability to respond quickly to problems and to address rapidly changing priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic, and often demanding environment
More than 15 years of related education or experience
Ability to obtain Q and SCI clearance, which generally require U.S. Citizenship
Experience configuring and managing General Dynamics encryption devices
Demonstrated experience in Cisco IOS XE and 15+ across modern Cisco Switch and Router Platforms
Expert level administration of Top of Rack switch design (Arista, Brocade, Penguin, Mellanox)
Demonstrated experience with Storage Systems (Gen 5+ FC, iSCSI, luster and gpfs)
Demonstrated experience with design and deployment of VTC and VoIP systems
Demonstrated experience with remote systems maintenance, management and remediation platforms ( e.g. Sep14+, Tanium, WSUS, SCCM, ACAS, Splunk)
Experience in an HPC environment utilizing TOSS 3.X (Perseus, Moab/Slurm, open MP, RHEL 7)
Experience with Intrusion Detection and Prevention Systems on network infrastructure
Experience designing and maintaining network and storage infrastructure in virtual environments using VMware products including ESXi and Vsphere
DoE Q/SCI or DoD TS highly desired

The Sensitive and Special Operations Office (SSO) is responsible for the certification, accreditation, and compliant operation of all LANL SCIFs and Special Access Program Facilities (SAPFs), as well as providing security and operational oversight for all IW (Intelligence Work) conducted at LANL. It is the office’s responsibility to provide the infrastructure and operational support to facilitate successful execution of intelligence programs while maintaining the integrity of a comprehensive security program. This is accomplished through routine interface with a diverse assortment of sponsor representatives and program security personnel.
