Los Alamos National Laboratory Soil Microbiology Postdoc in Los Alamos, New Mexico
What You Will Do
Los Alamos National Laboratory invites applications for a postdoctoral position in the Bioenergy and Biome Sciences Group (B-11) of the Bioscience Division.
A postdoctoral position is available in the DOE BER Terrestrial Microbial Carbon Science Focus Area. This research program focuses on microbial carbon cycling and climate feedbacks in terrestrial ecosystems (https://www.lanl.gov/science-innovation/science-programs/office-of-science-programs/biological-environmental-research/sfa-microbial-carbon.php). The program uses meta-‘omic strategies to investigate how natural variation in microbial composition can drive large, persistent variation in carbon flow from plant litter decomposition. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating a multi-year field and laboratory experiment to assess the temporal dynamics of microbially-driven carbon flow during litter decomposition.
Successful candidates will work closely with a team of Ph.D. staff scientists, postdoctoral researchers, technicians, and external collaborators.
What You Need
Minimum Job Requirements:
Molecular microbiology laboratory skills (DNA/RNA extractions, PCR, etc.)
