Los Alamos National Laboratory Senior Technician - Low Voltage Electrical Equipment (Technical Project Manager 2) in Los Alamos, New Mexico
What You Will Do
The Technical Project Manager reports to the MSS-CE Group Leader and is primarily responsible for managing, executing and ensuring the timely completion of the Low Voltage Electrical Equipment Maintenance (LVEEM) program at Los Alamos National Laboratory.The program includes providing maintenance services, oversite and support for low voltage electrical equipment (<600 volts), lightning protection and battery bank maintenance programs throughout the laboratory. The Technical Project manager reviews technical requirements; identifies and reviews required program deliverables, provides estimates, and schedules; and oversees the LVEEM work execution team in the planning, tracking, and execution of each activity from initiation to completion.This position provides technical expertise to aid the craft in performing this work, as well as develops and modifies procedures with Maintenance and Site Services – Maintenance Program Engineers. The majority of the work will be with facility and industrial type systems and equipment.
What You Need
Minimum Job Requirements:
Experience in facility electrical distribution system maintenance to include in depth knowledge of NFPA 70E, NFPA 70, NFPA 70B, ANSI/NETA MTS, NFPA 780 and NFPA 111
Working knowledge of and experience in facility electrical equipment maintenance that includes interpreting various electrical documents, specifications, drawings and schematics; researching solutions and alternative approaches to issues affecting facility electrical maintenance execution.
Working knowledge of project management strategies for technical work, including developing project plans, work breakdown structures, and work packages; managing to scope, schedule, budget, and technical baselines; and documenting baseline reports and change control actions.
Experience working at a DOE site to include knowledge of DOE Orders and Directives.
Experience in developing and nurturing effective internal customer relationships.
Ability to successfully plan, organize, lead, and monitor team efforts to completion.
Ability to interact effectively with all levels of personnel; building trust, gaining consensus, and resolving conflicts.
Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills.
Certified as a Low-Voltage Circuit Breaker Technician 3.
Certified in Level I Thermography.
Certified as a Lightning Inspector through the Lightning Protection Institute.
- Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of five years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Clearance: Q (Position will be cleared to this level). Applicants selected will be subject to a Federal background investigation and must meet eligibility requirements* for access to classified matter.
*Eligibility requirements: To obtain a clearance, an individual must be at least 18 years of age; U.S. citizenship is required except in very limited circumstances. See DOE Order 472.2 for additional information.
