Los Alamos National Laboratory Remedy Developer (Systems Analyst 2/3) in Los Alamos, New Mexico
What You Will Do
The selected candidate will be a part of SAE-3’s Remedy Tools Team as Remedy Developer. This position requires an experienced professional with understanding of the BMC Software’s Remedy Action Request (ARS) System, Remedy IT Management System (ITSM) suite, Atrium CMDB, and Smart Reporting. System Analysts support (development, administration, maintenance) enterprise production systems and associated applications and realms in support of institutional customers.
This position will be filled at either the Systems Analyst 2 or 3 level, depending on the skills of the selected candidate. Additional job responsibilities (outlined below) will be assigned if the candidate is hired at the higher level.
Systems Analyst 2 ($72,500-$118,200)
The selected candidate will work as a Systems Analyst 2 to support the development, configuration, administration and maintenance of Remedy and its components for Los Alamos National Laboratory. The tool set currently includes BMC’s Remedy Action Request System, Remedy IT Service Management suite, Atrium CMDB, and Smart Reporting applications.
The successful candidate will be required to:
Work closely with members of the Remedy Tools Team, as well as other IT-related groups who use Remedy on a regular basis.
Proactively monitor, provide recommendations, and implement changes to improve the quality and efficiency of solutions developed.
Design, develop, modify, test, debug and evaluate workflow solutions to meet functional requirements outlined for the Remedy team.
Assist in gathering of business requirements as well as provide recommendations and implementation solutions based on those requirements.
Work with process specialists in the design of new forms and workflow, as well as customization of existing forms and workflow to best fit their identified needs.
Prepare documentation for developed workflow solutions, training and user guides.
Systems Analyst 3 ($87,800-$144, 800)
In addition to the responsibilities outlined above, the Systems Analyst 3 will:
Participate with other senior Remedy Developers within the Remedy Tools Team to help define the strategy and direction that Remedy should take at the Lab.
Perform workflow solution analysis, system risk analysis, and software reliability analysis with fellow Remedy Developers, System and Database Administrators.
Develop integration strategies and solutions using BMC Atrium Integrator, Remedy’s REST API, and other potential solutions to integrate Remedy with third-party applications.
Participate in meetings to guide requirements analysis and develop solutions to onboard new groups and divisions using third-party forms and applications into Remedy.
Develop custom applications, forms, and workflow in Remedy outside the IT Service Management suite to meet the specific custom needs of IT and non-IT services.
Assist in maintaining the accuracy of data being imported into the CMDB from third-party asset discovery solutions implemented at the Lab.

Demonstrated professional experience in the following areas:
Strong IT troubleshooting skills
Strong project management and attention to detail skills
Ability to identify opportunities to design and implement process improvements.
Understanding of ITIL framework, workflows, and integration.
Understanding of Agile Development framework.
Ability to work well with others across multiple teams to gather, anticipate, track, and incorporate new requirements while maintaining configuration management and version control.
Familiarity with federal government security requirements, and ability to implement and assess effectiveness of security controls.
Additional Job Requirements for Systems Analyst 3
In addition to the above job requirements, applicants for System Analyst 3 consideration must demonstrate professional experience in the following areas:
Five years or more experience working with administration and development of Remedy forms and workflows, including products such as BMC Remedy IT Service Management suite.
Strong familiarity with BMC Atrium CMDB application.
Familiarity with BMC Atrium Integrator.
Strong familiarity with the Software Development Lifecycle.
Apache Tomcat 7 or higher
ITIL v3 framework and processes certification
Familiarity with BMC SmartIT and Digital Workplace
Familiarity with BMC Discovery (formerly ADDM)
Familiarity with BMC TrueSight (formerly Patrol)
Familiarity with BMC Smart Reporting or BMC Analytics
SQL language for use with Microsoft SQL or Oracle databases
Experience with other ITSM Tools such as Service Now, HP Service Manager, Maximo.
Systems Analyst 2: A minimum bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field preferred, or equivalent; four years relevant education and professional experience.
Systems Analyst 3: A minimum bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field preferred, or equivalent; eight years relevant education and professional experience.

Existing security clearance not required, but must have the ability to obtain a Q clearance.
