Los Alamos National Laboratory Project Coordinator (Operations Support Specialist 1) in Los Alamos, New Mexico
What You Will Do
Use your skills and enthusiasm to help support projects that enable new employee training programs for one of the most important research institutions in the world. As a part of the Operational Readiness Implementation, Training & Mission Services Group (ORI-1), you will be able to apply your excellent customer service, logistics, coordination and task execution skillsets to assist Technical Project Managers with multiple project-specific activities, both administrative and physical in nature, within the Associate Laboratory Directorate for Weapons Production (ALDWP). Residing in the ORI-1 Technical Project Management Team, you will spend your day in a highly interactive and cooperative environment, with day-to-day duties ranging from:
Execution of job scope based on detailed instructions given for new assignments or special assignments in the areas of facility projects, equipment/storage organization and maintenance, and/or events coordination
Facility Custodian responsibilities, including assisting with accuracy and safety of project deliveries, storing and organizing equipment/supplies, and moving/transporting stored equipment and supplies.
Maintaining check-out logs of building property/equipment for classrooms and other use (i.e. badge scanners, slide clickers, Government Vehicles, etc.)
Performing facility escort duties, as needed
Assisting with Facility Service Request (FSR) submissions and procurement tracking in Ariba
Assisting in routine facility or area walk-downs, procedure reviews, inspections, and/or evaluations to ensure the safe and efficient operation of the facility and/or organization
Assisting in performing periodic reviews and assessments to ensure of the facility and/or organization systems are operating properly and are being maintained within required limits
Assisting in preliminary inquiries and information gathering into abnormal facility events and occurrences and the development, implementation and documentation of corrective actions for identified systems and equipment deficiencies and failures
What You Need
Minimum Job Requirements:
Basic knowledge of business activities in an operational environment, including familiarity with one or more of the following: formality of operations, compliance practices, configuration management, training and qualification, and feedback and improvement. Knowledge of basic facility operations and experience following established procedures for routine work. Ability to create and document new procedures for responsible tasks. Demonstrated ability to work and collaborate in multidisciplinary teams under direct supervision.
Computer Skills/Business Systems
Knowledge of business and operations systems and standard software applications (i.e. Microsoft and Adobe products). Ability to quickly learn and adapt to use of LANL business systems (i.e. Oracle, UTrain, Issues Management, etc.). Familiarity with the Facility Service Request (FSR) system and procurement systems (e.g. GSR, Ariba).
Entry-level experience in conducting research, investigating alternative solutions, and recommending solutions on problems affecting facility operations and operational quality assurance. Knowledge of operations policies, practices, and procedures, and the ability to apply them to the resolution of facility issues.
Demonstrated skill with interpersonal, written, and verbal communications. Demonstrated attention to detail including strong organizational skills, analytical thinking, observational skills and problem solving skills. Proven ability to multi-task and adjust to the workings of a dynamic team environment
Exceptional customer service skills and the ability to provide support to others in sometimes stressful situations. Ability to interact professionally with all types of personnel, including external interfaces and executive management.
Education and Experience
Position requires an Associates Degree in a relevant field and at least two years of relevant experience or, an equivalent combination of education and experience directly related to the occupation.
Basic knowledge of documentation quality assurance, including document controls and records management.
Familiarity with regulatory guidance and the implementation thereof.
Experience with P300, Integrated Work Management
Location: This position will be physically located in Los Alamos.

for access to classified matter. This position requires a Q clearance which requires US Citizenship except in extremely rare circumstances. Dependent upon position, additional authorization to access nuclear weapons information may be required that may or may not be available to dual citizens depending upon the circumstances.

HRP: This position is subject to the requirements of the DOE Human Reliability Program as specified in 10 Code of Federal Regulation, Part 712, §712.11. These requirements include on going drug and alcohol testing, as well as periodic medical and psychological evaluations.
New-Employment Drug Test: The Laboratory requires successful applicants to complete a new-employment drug test and maintains a substance abuse policy that includes random drug testing.
