What You Will Do
The program manager will act as a programmatic representative for Applied Energy. The successful candidate will assist the Program Director in the leadership and management of the Applied Energy portfolio. Working closely with the Program Director, the Program Manager will
Manage proposal process for LANL Applied Energy Funding Opportunity Announcements, Lab Research Calls, AOPs, Field Work Proposals.
Track and maintain documentation on all proposals awards, work Authorizations, and other related proposal or funding documents.
Act as a liaison between the Applied Energy program office and its customers, including DOE HQ and LAFO, as well as internal principal investigators articulating the need for current science initiatives from customers and the intersect with laboratory capabilities.
Lead the review, analysis, and interpret data for development of SPO-AE Program Office metrics.
Lead the efforts for continuous quality improvement in proposal process and records management.
Oversee project management staff in the office.
What You Need
Minimum Job Requirements:
Expert-Level knowledge of the Laboratory's organizational structure and policies, practices, and procedures.
Demonstrated experience in the program management or project leadership of complex programs or projects.
Demonstrated success in program advocacy and strategic planning.
Proven record of effectively building and managing interactions with internal and external customers and stakeholders.
Demonstrated commitment to quality and excellence as evidenced by exemplary work products.
Demonstrated excellent oral and written communication skills, demonstrated strong interpersonal skills, and a record of dealing effectively with conflict.
Demonstrated familiarity with Laboratory and DOE policies and procedures and successful experience in analyzing, interpreting, and applying those policies to a program office
Demonstrated effective time management skills as demonstrated by the ability to manage multiple, diverse projects and meeting deadlines; establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with all levels of staff (internal and external) including partnering with technical staff with varying priorities and deadlines.
Experience in managing small and large collaborative efforts, such as proposals.
Experience working in a science or technology related organization.
Education: Position typically requires at minimum a bachelor’s degree and two years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
