Los Alamos National Laboratory Media Production/Services Specialist 2 in Los Alamos, New Mexico

What You Will Do eXperience IT (XIT) Division is seeking an energetic and customer-focused Media Production/Services Specialist 2 for the XIT Technical Services and Solutions (XIT-TSS) group. The Media Services Team within XIT-TSS is responsible for performing photography and video production work around the Laboratory as well as the operation of several auditoriums and printing services. As part of the Media Services Team, the Media Production/Services Specialist 2 will perform still photography services to capture presentations and events, document experiments, and create high-quality imagery for communication products around the Laboratory and Northern New Mexico.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • High-quality image production for internal and external Laboratory communication products in a studio or in the field using a variety of cameras, lighting equipment and light modifiers

  • Public relations, documentary, environmental, and portrait photography

  • Serve as a subject matter expert on high-quality image production, industry trends, photographic technology, and contemporary styles

  • Assist with video production services and printing services

  • Maintain archive of all photographic material produced

What You Need

Minimum Job Requirements:

  • Extensive experience with professional photographic production technologies for both capturing digital still content and editing for final product output to determined medium

  • Extensive experience with off-camera lighting equipment and light modifiers

  • Extensive experience shooting in a studio

  • Skilled in multimedia production software (e.g., Photoshop, Light Room, etc.)

  • Skilled in verbal and written communications and in negotiating with customers and vendors

  • Demonstrated excellent customer service

  • Demonstrated experience shooting in challenging environments

  • Demonstrated ability and desire to become knowledgeable with new photographic technology, styles and standards, as the multimedia industry and Laboratory’s needs change

Desired Skills:

  • Technical or professional certifications related to photography, multimedia or digital arts

  • Experience or training in cinematography

Education:Position typically requires a bachelor’s degree and a minimum five years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
