Los Alamos National Laboratory Digital Quantum Simulations for Dynamical Quantum Matter Postdoc in Los Alamos, New Mexico
What You Will Do
The Group of Condensed Matter and Complex Systems in the Theoretical Division of Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL) has an immediate postdoctoral position opening in the area of digital quantum simulations for quantum matter out of equilibrium. The opened position provides an opportunity to pursue the discovery of novel phases in driven quantum matter via time-dependent simulations on noisy intermediate-scale quantum devices. It will involve calculating the quantum state propagation and fidelity in both spin- and fermion-based model systems.
What You Need
Minimum Job Requirements:
The successful candidate is anticipated to have experience in computational study of strongly correlated electron models. Preference will be given to candidates who also already have knowledge and experience with quantum computing in the similar area of research. Strong written and oral communication skills are required.
Candidates must have a Ph.D. in theoretical condensed matter physics (completed within the last 5 years).
Experience with exact diagonalization and density matrix renormalization group method is desired.
Location: This position will be physically located in Los Alamos, New Mexico.
