What You Will Do
The Detonator Production Division (DP) is looking for a high-caliber Detonator Equipment Maintenance Specialist to help maintain their status as one of the premier production agency’s in the National Security Enterprise. We want you to become part of the Detonator Production team, which provides superior quality and value in the work that they do, and this position will assist in providing detonation related products and services to assist in the protection of our nation and promote world stability.
You will work with the Detonator Operations programmatic equipment maintenance team and provide preventive and corrective maintenance services. This position requires advanced understanding and demonstrated experience performing mechanical equipment installation, troubleshooting and repair of electro-mechanical manufacturing systems.

What You Need
Minimum Job Requirements:
Mechanical Ability: Knowledge and experience with installation, testing, repair, troubleshooting, and maintenance of electromechanical equipment and systems, as well as demonstrated experience performing advanced troubleshooting and diagnostics, and replacing defective components on electro-mechanical and electronic systems.
Blueprints/Schematics: Demonstrated experience with interpretation of technical drawings, schematics, and other related specifications.
Team Work: Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team setting.
Education/Experience :Position requires a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering Technology, Science, Math or related degree from an accredited institution and 2 years related experience; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience directly related to the occupation.
Manufacturing Experience: Experience with manufacturing systems operations and maintenance, as well as experience working in a production-manufacturing environment where production schedules drive demand for attention to detail and minimal equipment down time.
Advanced Mechanical Ability: Experience performing troubleshooting and diagnostics, and replacing defective components on systems involving chemical stripping and etching, as well as experience with hydraulic and pneumatic systems and associated preventive and corrective maintenance.
Essential Job Functions (can perform with or without reasonable accommodation): Peripheral vision; reaching horizontally; gripping with the hands; depth perception and lifting 30+ pounds.
Work Environment: Work with toxic chemicals, work with safety glasses, safety shoes, protective shielding of body/torso
Location: This position will be located in Los Alamos, NM.

for access to classified matter. This position requires a Q clearance which requires US Citizenship except in extremely rare circumstances. Dependent upon position, additional authorization to access nuclear weapons information may be required that may or may not be available to dual citizens depending upon the circumstances.
Eligibility requirements: To obtain a clearance, an individual must be at least 18 years of age; U.S. citizenship is required except in very limited circumstances. SeeDOE Order 472.2 for additional information.
New-Employment Drug Test: The Laboratory requires successful applicants to complete a new-employment drug test and maintains a substance abuse policy that includes random drug testing.
Regular position: Term status Laboratory employees applying for regular-status positions are converted to regular status.
